Shopping: the city’s Victorian arcades are worth visiting even if you’re not planning on making any significant purchases. In addition to the architectural interest, the arcades boasts lots of small shops and boutiques, food markets, up-market retailers and even a treat for the kids, known as Banana Custard.
The centre features a five-block pedestrian-only shopping area that makes it safe and easy to make your way from shop to shop. The Central market is a good place to shop for arts and crafts.
Golf: visit the luxurious Celtic Manor Resort, which will be the site of golf’s 2010 Ryder Cup. If you travel a bit farther, you’ll come to the Vale Resort, home of Europe’s longest golf course.
Walking: the Taff Trail is one of the most popular trails with visiting hikers. Some of the breathtaking sights you’ll see on the trail are quite close to the city of Cardiff, and the tranquillity you’ll find here provides a welcome contrast to Cardiff’s busy urban environment.
Explore the Brecon Beacon: and discover a scenic and peaceful retreat from busy Cardiff. You will be able to enjoy some mountain climbing, paragliding and sailing.
Visit Cardiff Bay: which boasts a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere complete with bars, cafes and restaurants. Boat rides around the bay are available and you’ll find a few shops and a children's playground, in addition to the wonderful views across to Penarth.
