Rugby: you can enjoy a match played by the Cardiff Rugby Football Club at its impressive Millennium Stadium. The club is 100 years old, and its new venue was completed in time for the 1999 Rugby World Cup. Some important football matches are also held at this stadium.
Swimming: Cardiff's Maindy Pool, located in Bute Park in the city centre, is open to the public for swimming and there are other sports facilities in the park as well, including a cycle track and sports field. You’ll also find a cafe area providing refreshments.
Dry skiing: the Cardiff Ski Centre found in Fairwater Park offers opportunities for dry-skiing and snowboarding and provides excellent facilities for both. From novice to expert, there’s something here for everyone; and instructor services and equipment are both available.
Golf: the unique landscape of Cardiff and the surrounding area encouraged the development of a number of highly-rated and popular courses. Non-members are welcome and play by paying a fee for a round. It’s advisable to book as far in advance as possible, as golfing is very popular here, especially during the main tourist season. Be sure to have a camera with you, as you’ll find the views from the courses to be spectacular.
