Introduction to Whitchurch, Wales
Situated right in the west of Wales, in the county of Pembrokeshire, Whitchurch is a small village at just over a mile from the coast. Although the village itself is tiny, with just a few houses, it makes an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding coastline and beaches of Pembrokeshire. It is also just a few miles from St David's, a major tourist attraction with its impressive cathedral and other historic sites. In Whitchurch, there are a handful of places of interest, including the parish church and the nearby standing stone that many believe to be part of a much larger Celtic Cross. At Caerforiog farm, the birthplace of a 14th century lord chancellor of England, Adam Houghton, visitors can see an old archway thought to date back nearly 700 years. Whitchurch hotels are sparse given the small stature of the town, but there are a handful of options close to its sister village of Solva.
