Introduction to Swansea, Wales
Swansea is a large city on Swansea Bay in South Wales. Swansea Railway Station has trains from Cardiff, which in turn is linked to London Paddington. On Swansea’s coast there is a marina and the town beach. Some of the hotels in Swansea are on Oystermouth Road, which runs parallel to the beach. Oystermouth Road and the Maritime Quarter house the National Waterfront Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre, an outdoor lido and parks with colourful gardens. The seafront Swansea hotels are within easy reach of these attractions as well as Swansea Castle and the city’s myriad dining and nightlife venues. Mumbles is on a peninsula on the west side of Swansea Bay and features a Victorian era pier. Mumbles is within easy range of the hotels in Swansea. Three Cliffs Bay, Langland, Limeslade and Caswell beaches are near Mumbles and provide good swimming opportunities. Swansea Bay offers windsurfing, surfing, kayaking and sailing.
