Introduction to Merthyr Tydfil, Wales
Merthyr Tydfil is one of the larger towns in Wales and offers visitors numerous outdoor excursions and tourist attractions to choose from. The town centre is made up of St Tydfil Square, bordered by the railway station on the eastern side. This is the main public transportation link to the city, providing excellent transport to the rest of the UK. St Tydfil Square is where all the shopping and many of the restaurants are located. Merthyr Tydfil hotels can be found near the railway station, north of St. Tydfil Square off Castle Street, and on the northern side of town where several large hotels are located off Pontmorlais West. As the town is located just south of Brecon Beacons National Park, much of its tourism is based in outdoor recreation. Merthyr Tydfil is also next to Fforest Fawr Geopark, which protects the area’s outstanding cultural and geological heritage. Even more outdoor activities can be had in the Taff Bargoed Valley, home to the Parc Taf Bargoed and the Summit Centre for climbing enthusiasts.other spellings: merthyrtydflihotels, otelin merthy tydifl, merthyr tyfdil hotell, merthyr tdyfil hote
