Introduction to Llangollen, Wales
Llangollen is on the River Dee in northeast Wales. Llangollen is at the foot of the low-lying Berwyn Mountain Range, 10 miles from Wrexham. Llangollen is not a large town but it does have a number of Llangollen hotels. Most of the Llangollen hotels are close to Castle Street, the town’s main thoroughfare. Llangollen is a popular tourist destination and has attractions which include a castle, a preserved steam railway, horse-drawn barge ride and wonderful countryside. In the vicinity of Llangollen are a number of golf courses. The River Dee offers white-water kayaking and canoeing. The ruins of the medieval castle, Castell Dinas Bran, are on a hill looking down on Llangollen and its verdant surroundings. Llangollen hotels are a perfect base for setting out on hiking paths to the castle, and also the district’s other walking trails.
