Introduction to Dolgellau, Wales
Most visitors to this historic town in northwest Wales opt to stay at one of the quaint hotels in Dolgellau clustered around the city centre, primarily off Fford Cader Idris Road. The town can easily be reached from the main A470 roadway and is popular, particularly during the spring and summer seasons, with visitors who come to enjoy the beautiful countryside and the many Celtic ruins in and around the town. Most historic sites are easily accessible as well as the famous Snowdonia National Park. The ruins of Cymer Abbey, a 12th century monastery, can be visited, as can Ty Siamas, the National Centre for Welsh Folk Music, which is housed in a delightful 19th century building that was once used as the Town Hall and features on-hands exhibits. Yet most visitors come here for the superb hill walking opportunities in the surrounding hills, with the 893m Cadair Idris a local challenge.other spellings: dolgelluahotels, dolgelalu otel, dolgellau hotell, dolglelau hotes, dolegllau
