Introduction to Chepstow, Wales
Chepstow is a large market town in South Wales that stands on the banks of the River Wye. Many tourists visit the town, which is popular as it has Chepstow Racecourse, a castle and the Severn Princess ferryboat, which is in the process of being restored. Many Chepstow hotels are located near to the Town Gate or on Newport Road. It is here on the hill that the best views of the town and the River Wye are available. The town is cyclist friendly and has routes dedicated for two wheels. Other attractions include the 11th century priory church of St Mary, located near to the river. The church as one time used to receive Norman monks until the Reformation. For a look into the history of the town, the local town museum located near the castle is a must-visit. Walkers will enjoy a visit here as two walking paths, the Wye Valley Walk and the Offa’s Dyke Path, link with the town. A weekly market takes place in the town, while St Mary Street offers a nice collection of antique-type stores selling knick-knacks.other spellings: chepstow hotels, hote cheapstow, chepstoe otel, chepsto hotell, hotelin chipstow
