Getting There

Getting to Phan Thiet
By road: the fastest way to get to Phan Thiet is to hire a car (with driver) from Ho Chi Minh City, go onto National Highway 1 and follow the road signs until you reach Phan Thiet. Driving is a very rewarding experience as the road from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet is very scenic. The 200 km journey will take you about 3-4 hours.
By rail: catching a train from Saigon or Hanoi is also another way to get to Phan Thiet. You will arrive at Muong Man Station which is about 12kms outside the city centre.
People usually get around in Phan Thiet by motorcycles, which are offered at the resorts. Those who don’t want to hire a motorcycle can also opt for a bicycle for a slower and relaxing ride. Motor-taxis are also provided for short trips around town while taxis are also available but can be quite expensive.
The best way to travel around in Phan Thiet is on traditional cyclos. They are similar to trishaws in a unique Vietnamese version. You get to sit on a fairly spacious seat compartment in front with a rider pedalling behind. In this manner you can experience Phan Thiet at its core with a friendly rider being your personal guide.
