Phan Thiet harbour: is an ideal place if you want to relax amidst colourful scenery of fishing boats and take some pictures of charming surroundings. The bridges and parks are best viewed at night when the lights are on. The harbour is also lively in the evening when local people visit the harbour for a stroll.
A trip to sand dunes: located 65kms northeast of Phan Thiet, the White Sand Dunes are famous and look very Sahara-like. Why not climb up the dunes and slide down on a white plastic sheet provided (for some extra charge) for impromptu fun.
Hiking: Takou Mountain, about one hour away from Mui Ne Beach, is a popular destination among hikers. People come here for a hike while those who are not into climbing can take a gondola through a magnificent tropical rainforest where lots of birds and exotic wildlife can be seen. Tourists can also visit the pagoda on the top of the peak or admire the largest reclining Buddha in Vietnam.
Mineral springs: only a short drive from Phan Thiet, you can find Vinh Hao Mineral Springs which are well-known for their therapeutic qualities. Some also drink mineral water here as they believe that it contains certain chemical that promotes good health.
Kiteboarding, windsurfing and surfing: Mui Ne Beach is known as a centre of kiteboarding in Southeast Asia. Because of its all-year around weather, other sports like windsurfing and surfing are also famous here.
Beaches: situated 24 kms northeast of Phan Thiet town, Mui Ne is packed with gold sand dunes, palm trees and turquoise sea. There are many beautiful, secluded beaches around the area where you can relax in the sun. Doi Cat, a golden sand hill, is also one of the highlights here.
