Situated on the west coast of Vietnam's lovely Phu Quoc Island, stunning Ba Keo Beach is among Southeast Asia's best-kept secrets. Swaying palms shade ideal beaches and the laid-back locals, and the area offers perhaps the best value for money anywhere in the region. Visitors headed for a small but pleasing selection of Ba Keo Beach hotels and resorts can easily reach their destination by aiming just south of Duong Dong Town and the island's airport. In addition to swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing on and around the yellow-sand beach, attractions close by include Suoi Tranh waterfall, set about seven kilometres to the south and perfect for a daytrip. Visits to the dozens of fish sauce factories for which the island is famous can be fun, if a little aromatic! The beach offers plenty of options for scuba diving, with cruising the island on a rented motorbike the best way to search out remote beauties. The Ham Ninh Pearl Farm is well worth a visit if there's time.
