Introduction to Phan Thiet - Mui Ne Bay
Mui Ne Bay is a Vietnamese seaside resort 150kms east of Ho Chi Minh City. The resort abuts the town of Phan Thiet, where the railway station is the principal gateway to the area. The resort's coastal road is Nguyen Dinh Chieu and this stretches along the bay. There is a diverse choice of Mui Ne Bay hotels along this road, with the more expensive resort facilities at the back of the beach and budget guest houses on the opposite side of the road. The temperate waters around Mui Ne Bay are great for swimming, although waves can sometimes be high. Water sports available include kite-surfing, windsurfing and jet-skiing. Shops along the bay sell souvenirs such as snake liquor and lacquered bowls, beachwear and other holidaymaker articles. Restaurants here serve local gastronomy, seafood dishes, pizzas, sushi and French baguettes. Nightlife venues vary from quiet bars to complexes with casinos and discos.
