Dalat is an attractive city in Vietnam's South Central Highlands. It offers easy access to surrounding attractions, such as coffee plantations, traditional villages and monasteries. The city's cool climate offers a welcome respite from the intense humidity of the capital, Ho Chi Minh City. Many visitors stay in the city centre, where large concentrations of accommodation can be found. However, increasing numbers of travellers are choosing to stay on the edges of the city, which offer a quieter alternative for those visitors with their own transport. Dalat hotels on the outskirts allow guests to escape the holiday crowds, while still enjoying all that the city has to offer. Visitors staying on the southern outskirts have easy access to the city's airport, 18 miles from the city centre.
