The Legislative Palace in Montevideo is an impressive site form the outside, but the interior, surpasses all expectation for a building that houses the two executive branches of government. The building consists of a series of chambers, each more ornate than the next, filled with beautiful oil paintings, ornate frescos, old statues and magnificent chandeliers. Possibly the most amazing room is the library, which is open to the general public, and contains stunning stained glass, ornate woodwork and bronze.
