Introduction to Stowe, Vermont
Stowe is a small resort community in Vermont. Tourism is the primary local industry, so hotels in Stowe receive plenty of visitors throughout the year. The community lies at the bottom of Mount Mansfield, which is the highest point in the state. Visitors arrive throughout the year, but the busiest season of all is the winter, when the ski slopes of Mount Mansfield are available. This is when Stowe hotels fill up, and anyone without an advance reservation may have a hard time finding a suitable room. Favorite attractions in Stowe include the Vermont Ski Museum, which takes an in depth look at the history of skiing in Vermont and has a few side exhibits that rotate in and out on a seasonal basis. The Trapp Family Lodge (from The Sound of Music) is also here. Most of hotels in Stowe are located along Route 108 (locally known as Mountain Road).
