Bay City is between Corpus Christi and Galveston near the Gulf of Mexico coast in eastern Texas.

The area is not famous for many things, but is has cheapish Bay City hotels and has the 'lesser' Colorado River running through it.

There are some decent restaurants in town, including loads of Mexican-style joints, while nearby is Lake Jackson and plenty of beaches.

Beaches to check out include Quintana Beach, Surfside Beach, and Bryan Beach.

Naturally, the fishing near to the boundary is really good, with large amounts of shark and redfish, and many accommodations can organise fishing trips for guests.

Places to see nearby include West Columbia, Palacios, and Galveston, while Houston is also well within reach via State Highway 35.

Check out Seventh Street and Avenue F for the best range of establishments, motels and guesthouses, or perhaps head due south and stay in one of the many towns along the coast.
