With some of the highest-priced real estate in the whole of Hawaii, Waialae-Kahala is a small residential community right on the beach, close to the capital of the state Honolulu.

It is a good spot to soak up the sun given the beaches here are generally much less crowded than Waikiki Beach nearby, and the location is excellent at just a 15-minute drive away from the centre of Honolulu.

There is a good golf course here right on the coast and a nearby shopping centre at Kahala as well as a host of attractive green parks that make the town a great base from which to enjoy and explore the surrounding area.

Given the high property prices and wealthy surroundings, most Waialae-Kahala hotels are high-end resorts that come with all mod-cons, but there is also a handful of mid-range options for visitors keeping to a more modest budget.
