Mystic is a coastal village in Connecticut that straddles the Mystic River with the western half situated in the town of Groton and the eastern half in Stonington. This has been one of the state's most visited holiday resorts for many years with excellent choices of restaurants, bars and hotels in Mystic maintaining that popularity. The two halves of the village are joined by the Mystic River Bascule Bridge and with the establishments and attractions spread across both you will find having your own vehicle with you is the best way to get around. Top of the places to see is the world's biggest maritime museum, The Museum of America and the Sea, at the Seaport. This features several preserved sailing ships and most of the properties are within easy reach. This is also the home of the restaurant featured in the 1980s film, Pizza, which is a big hit with tourists.
