By bus: bus service is available from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai; but to reach most other cities in the UAE, it is necessary to take a minibus or transport bus from Dubai. For longer-distance routes, bus service is also available, although it mainly caters to those who live in remote towns such as Jazeerah-al-Hamra, Rams and Sha’am.
By road: Ras Al Khaimah is connected with other emirates – including Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain – by excellent highways and taxi services. Taxis typically embark from a taxi stand that’s located near the new RAK police station, south of Al Dhaid town. They can also be reserved in advance for trips to Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The newest route of all, known as the Emirates Highway, crosses the emirates of Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah, finally ending in Dubai. The travel time from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai using this highway is less than 45 minutes.
By air: the Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is serviced by a number of airlines arriving from originating points in the Gulf region, the Middle East, northern and eastern Africa and Asia. Operators include Aeroflot, Egypt Air, Gulf Air, Indian Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines and several others.
