If you’re not interested in that sort of activity, you might want to pamper yourself with a spa treatment and spend some quality time shopping in the traditional souks or the ultra-modern shopping malls.
You’ll find that most all Jumeirah Beach hotels are well equipped with fitness facilities, pools, tennis courts and indoor game rooms. Water sports, in particular, are well catered for, as they are one of the main reasons that visitors come here.
Water sport: swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing, jet-skiing and boating are all possible here, and are some of the major activities that attract those who choose to visit Jumeirah Beach. Instruction is provided by clubs and at the marinas for windsurfing and jet-skiing, and equipment is available for hire as well.
Scuba diving and snorkelling: snorkelling and scuba diving are both extremely popular things to do here; and divers from novice to expert ability will all find diverse opportunities to explore the depths.
Fishing: was once the basis of the region’s economy, and although that has certainly changed, commercial fishing is still an active industry – with barracuda, kingfish, jackfish, rock cod and snapper the species most commonly caught. For sport fishing, it’s sailfish and the bottom-feeding sharks that are prized by visiting fishermen. Fully-equipped boats with crew are available for hire for deep-sea fishing excursions.
Eating and drinking: are particularly enjoyable at Jumeirah Beach restaurants, which offer up high-quality seafood and international cuisine at hotel and beachfront venues. Wining and dining can certainly be a highlight of a visit to Jumeirah Beach, and there’s no shortage of places to try.
