In the city, there’s relief from the heat to be found at a water park, having much to offer the whole family; and even at an indoor skiing complex where tobogganing and snowboarding are very popular.
Creekside Park: this huge park is one of the city’s most popular, both with its residents and visitors. It comprises almost 100 hectares of lush green lawns and botanical gardens, and features a number of barbecue sites and picnic tables. Other facilities include a play area for children, an 18-hole mini-golf course, areas for fishing and jogging paths.
Exploring the Arabian Desert: Dubai’s location at the edge of the Arabian Desert provides for plenty of opportunity to explore this extraordinarily harsh, yet spectacular environment – on camel-back, on a sand board or by 4-wheel-drive vehicle.
Ski Dubai Complex: in the only indoor ski area to be found in the Middle East, and although this may seem a strange attraction for Dubai, there are plenty of ‘snow-based’ activities on offer here – as well as an escape from the heat. In addition to skiing, you can also enjoy snowboarding and tobogganing, and in fact there should be something that will appeal to family members of all ages.
