Apart from the local fare, prices are generally high, although the quality is generally excellent. Dining outdoors is one of the pleasant aspects of eating out here – as the sunny days and clear and starry nights make it possible to enjoy alfresco dining year-round – in cafes, along the water and in the city’s many outdoor restaurants.
Local cuisine
There aren’t many local food specialties, as Dubai doesn’t really have a cuisine of its own; but you will find ample opportunity to sample Middle Eastern fare throughout the city.
Stalls selling shwarma are found throughout the city. There is no pork served in Dubai, or in any of the emirates, as it is not permitted on Muslim menus. Trying the local seafood is a must when you’re visiting Dubai, as the variety and quality are excellent.
