Getting Around

Getting Around Abu Dhabi
Bus service is available for travelling to towns and villages throughout the emirate – although the service is not at all reliable. Minibuses and long-distance taxis are better choices, and travel to most anywhere in the UAE can be arranged.
Taxis: are readily available and reasonably priced in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain – and can be hailed at the side of the road. Major operators include Al Ghazal, Fast Cars and NTC – all providing service in upscale cars and luxury limos; bookings can be made in advance by phone.
Hire cars: a good way to see the majority of the attractions in the emirate is by hiring a car. Visitors from many countries will require an international driver’s license, and others will be required to apply for a temporary UAE licence. Most major car hire companies are represented both at the airport and in the city itself – or can be contacted from your hotel.
