Introduction to Pamukkale, Turkey
Pamukkale is one of Turkey's top tourist attractions and is actually part of the ancient city of Hierapolis which is located in the south west of the country. Famed for its natural therapy with hot springs visitors flock to the area to swim in the waters and take in this natural and historic site which has been named as a UNESCO world heritage site. There are plenty of hotels in Pamukkale and some will be able to organise excursions to the site or provide information on the surrounding areas. One of the main hotels in Pamukkale actually houses one of the Sacred Pools where swimming is permitted amongst the ancient remains of the historical city of Hierapolis. Built into a valley, Hierapolis can actually be seen through the valley from nearby town of Deniliz some 30kms away.
