Introduction to Cesme - Ismet Inonu
In Turkey's far western region, about 85kms from Izmir, is the seaside resort town of Cesme. Ismet Inonu is the part of town that sits astride the hill that dominates the horizon behind the harbour. Only 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches, hotels in Ismet Inonu offer travellers a chance to stay out of the bustle of downtown Cesme and up in elevation where cool breezes prevail. A number of resorts can be found dotting the hills, several of which boast thermal hot springs. Although there are no attractions or public amenities in Ismet Inonu, each resort contains its own restaurants, bars and sundry shops. Shuttles regularly ferry guests down the hill into Cesme and back. Views from the hill provide a lovely panorama of the sea, the town and major landmarks like Cesme Castle.
