Introduction to Antalya - Konyaalti
Konyaalti is a beach and resort area a few kilometres west of Antalya, one of Turkey's most popular seaside tourist spots. Mainly a local's favourite for quick beach getaways on the weekend, Konyaalti hotels are spread all along the highway that parallels the coast. Unlike some of its flashier neighbours, Konyaalti doesn't have many luxury resorts. But it's this low key family atmosphere that makes it popular with many Turks. Visitors will find a great selection of restaurants and bars along the beach, and many water sports and beach activities are available from rental stalls on site. A convenient tram runs from the centre of Antalya right to Konyaalti Beach, so it's easy to zip into town for a different and livelier scene. On clear days, the snow-capped Taurus Mountains dominate the horizon.
