The southern costal area of Turkey is a premier holiday destination and attracts millions of tourists each year. Its main hub is the city of Antalya, which boasts a number of sights and attractions, is definitely worth visiting. The entire area is known for its luxurious resorts, and the famous Lara Beach, found just east of the city, is home to a number of swanky Barinaklar hotels. The beach is one of the longest in Turkey and has been nicknamed 'the Las Vegas of Turkey', as many of the resorts are replicas of famous places around the world. Barinaklar is only eight kilometres from the city centre, where some fantastic sites can be seen. Most of these, such as the Hidirlik Tower, Iskele Mosque and Hadrianus gate, can be found in the old quarters of Antalya. The city also has a vibrant nightlife scene consisting of bars, discotheques and nightclubs, and a delicious meal can be eaten for a very good price.
