Introduction to Antalya - Airport
The Turkish city of Antalya is one of the world's most ancient cities, having been established in 150BC. Since then, a huge number of notable travellers have visited, many of them leaving their marks. From hotels at Antalya Airport, modern visitors can enjoy the best of the city, whilst also enjoying the freedom to tour the region. Thanks to the E90 Euroroute running along the airport's northern boundary, tourists can be right in the old centre of the city in about 20 minutes. Here in the old quarter, called Kaleici, visitors can wander ancient, narrow streets inside the old city walls. The most impressive way to arrive is through the Hadrianus Gate, which was built by a Roman emperor. Local cuisine is one of the big attractions, so don't miss the chance to grab a bite along the way. There are so many fantastic old buildings it is hard to know where to begin. The archaeology museum is a good place to brush up on your appreciation of the sights, however.
