Introduction to Alanya - Kargicak
To the east of Turkey's Alanya lies the small coastal community of Kargicak, an area of beach resorts and second homes that is becoming a popular choice for pensioners and well-heeled holidaymakers. Kargicak has a tidy little town centre where visitors can find a decent selection of restaurants, bars and sundry shops. The hotels in Kargicak are mostly upscale resorts. All of the resorts and villa complexes contain their own restaurants and stores, but if you need more action and choice you can simply drive into Alanya, a major beach town just a few minutes away. Several interesting sites can be found around Kargicak, including Mahmutlar Belediyesi and Alanya L Tipi Kapali Cezaevi. A great place to escape from the beach for an afternoon is Mahmutlar Mesire Alani Park, a few minutes into the hills. Of course, the beaches here are superb, and most visitors rarely venture away from their resort.
