The Medina is the focal point of traditional Tunisian life and the place to find some of the city’s most authentic eateries as well as some fantastic shopping opportunities at its vibrant souks (markets). Architecture lovers will find the city’s most interesting structures in the Medina and those visitors looking to get a few good snaps for their photo albums, will find ample opportunities. Within driving distance of the city, are destinations such as Bizerte, Dougga and Thuburbo Majus; providing some excellent day trips opportunities. Of course, holiday makers need never leave the city is they prefer; with ample options for leisure activities available to keep them occupied for the duration of their vacation. Within a 90-minute drive of the city is the popular resort of Hammamet where holiday makers can relax on the beach and enjoy an altogether more developed and tourist-oriented environment.
