Mountain biking: get out of the city and into the rural areas surrounding it and there are some excellent areas in which to enjoy off-road biking action. Visitors will need to bring bikes and take care of their own transportation arrangements.
Hiking: some organised tours are available however visitors with their own transportation have the freedom to take off and enjoy a variety of mountainous areas within easy driving distance of the city. The low season is the best time to appreciate this pursuit since the summer weather precludes strenuous outdoor activity.
