Beach: Sousse has an excellent beach at its disposal, where visitors can enjoy lazy days in the sun – catching a few rays, relaxing with a good book or playing beach sports. Golden sands stretch the length of the city and are served by good dining, shopping and accommodation facilities.
Eating out: part of the whole cultural experience on any holiday abroad is tasting the local cuisine, and visitors holidaying in Sousse should not miss out an opportunity to do so. Sousse’s restaurants cook up a wide selection of tasty dishes that capture aspects of North African and Mediterranean cooking and include popular creations such as lablabi, chorba, mechouia salad and fricassee.
Nightlife: Sousse offers some good nightlife options, with the majority of worthy venues located within the big hotels or apartment complexes. Visitors need not be guests/residents to make use of the lively bars and discos around the town; although entry to the latter invariably involves a nominal fee.
Shopping in the medina: the medina is the place to find souvenirs, gifts for family and friends, art objects and textile goods – and it offers a rich cultural experience to boot. Visitors can enjoy entering into the haggling game with local vendors and trying their hand at getting some good bargains.
Water sport: Sousse’s beach offers opportunities to participate in a variety of water–based activities including swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and windsurfing.
