By train: from Tunis, the country’s capital city, it’s possible to take the train to Hammamet with the journey taking about 1 hour, 30 minutes. Services run several times a day and throughout the week.
By bus: buses, which are somewhat strangely referred to as ‘cars’, operate every 30 minutes between Tunis and Hammamet. Services are exceptionally cheap and generally reliable.
By air: Tunis-Carthage International Airport is the major gateway to the country and most international visitors will arrive in the country by means of it. Monastir-Habib Bourguiba International Airport is in fact closer to Hammamet but it serves low-cost airlines only so some visitors will be unable to take advantage of its convenience.
