Referred to as the ?Land of the Shining Mountains? this agricultural state in the northwest and Great Plains regions of the United States sits amongst several Rocky Mountain ranges and expansive prairie areas. Dotted with historical battlefields from the Indian Wars, the sparsely populated state of Montana is home to many world-famous parks and several Native reservations open to the public. Glacier National Park is an enormous, protected ecosystem encompassing over 4,000 square kilometres. It is home to hundreds of sites of historical significance, 130 lakes, and five historic hotels on the famous Going-to-the-Sun road.
