Louisiana Travel Guide
Most visitors to the US think of Louisiana in terms of New Orleans, also known as the ?Big Easy.? There?s no doubt that most tourists head to New Orleans for its French Quarter, Bourbon street, fine dining and, if the visit is timed right, maybe even Mardi Gras. There?s plenty more to Louisiana, though. There are bayous, swamps and wetlands, cotton and sugar plantations and the music and cuisine of the state?s Cajun country. You?ll step back in time when you visit Baton Rouge; there?s still an atmosphere of plantation life here, when cotton was king. The Capitol building in Baton Rouge is a fine example of Art-Deco style. In the northern reaches of Louisiana you?ll find excellent opportunities for fishing, hunting and bird watching in this nature lover?s paradise.
