Kentucky Fried Chicken, or KFC as it?s known as today, originated in London, Kentucky. This is the spiritual home of the ?colonel? who is credited with the original recipe but today the town draws visitors to its locally-distilled bourbon whisky and bluegrass music. The Kentucky Derby is run annually in Louisville, which is also home to baseball?s Louisville Slugger Museum. The self-proclaimed BBQ capital of the nation is Owensboro, where this truly American treat is something that must be tried. Mammoth Cave National Park is also located in Kentucky and features the largest cave system in the world. Nature lovers can tour the hills in search of a variety of native wildlife, including bald eagles, bison, black bears and elk.
