What draws tourists to this metropolitan city of Croatia is probably its cosiness and friendliness. Despite being the capital city, Zagreb isn?t exactly adorned with a glittering array of historic grandeur. However, the city has its fair share of charming monuments including St Mark?s church and the stone gate, with its beautiful shrine to the Virgin Mary. In the centre of the city is the main artery of Zagreb, the bustling Jalacic square where the central market is located. Apart from minor sightseeing, the city is home to many shady parks and a number of cosy cafes. When the sun goes down, Zagreb thrives with many vibrant clubs and bars while the National Theatre offers a variety of quality performances including drama, opera, ballet and orchestral music.
