The area is typified by stunning karst scenery, which means the landscape and offshore areas are dotted with towering limestone butts and pillars, often draped in forest or offering sheer cliff backdrops to resort and beach areas. These are most startling besides Ao Nang and at the lovely Railay Beach nearby, which is only accessible by boat, since it’s cut off from the mainland by impossible topography.
