Udon Thani Travel Guide
By train: trains leave from Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Railway Station to Udon Thani three times a day while there are two departure daily from Bang Sue station. The fare is very cheap and there are both normal trains and high-speed trains available.
By bus: you can also go to Udon Thani by bus. The buses leave from Bangkok’s Northern Bus Terminal (Mochi 2 Bus Terminal) throughout the day with the journey taking around 10 to 11 hours. Different classes of bus over a variety of comfort but most tourist opt for the air-conditioned VIP buses.
By car: alternatively, travelling by car from Bangkok is easy and convenient. Take Highway No. 1 (Paholyothin) to Saraburi. When you reach KM 107 marker, take Highway No. 2 to Udon Thani via Nakhon Ratchasima and Khon Kaen provinces. The total distance is around 564 kms.
