Trekking: can be enjoyed in an array of historical parks and on small hills. The Phu Phra Bat Historical Park is an ideal place where trekkers can hike around. With its beautiful surroundings and exquisite scenery, trekkers can admire the nature in the area boasting many kinds of trees, plants and wild flowers.
Tourists can also enjoy trekking along the provided trails, Phu Foi Lom, an eco-tourism tourist destination which is a part of the Pan Don Pa Ko National Reserved Park.
Waterfalls: are plentiful in Udon Thani and always packed with locals on weekends or holidays. People usually go picnicking around the waterfall areas.
You can see lots of young kids jumping down the rocks into the water. The most notable waterfalls are the Yung Thong Waterfall, located in Na Yung Nam Som National Park, featuring a three metre high waterfall with water cascading down the stone,s and the Than Ngam Waterfall, ideal for swimming and relaxing with many lush green trees and wild flowers around.
Shopping: is definitely one of Thailand’s favourite pastimes and as such, there are a lot of places in Udon Thani where you can make your stop to buy local products. Visit Ban Na Kha is the village situated 16 kilometers from town on the Nong Khai route which is a centre of cotton and silk. Another place worth checking out is Udon Sunshine Orchid Garden, where you can buy a new species of Thai scented orchid, Udon Sunshine.
Public park: is a main lake located in the province, featuring a scenic islet boasting many beautiful plants and flowers. There are also an impressive clock tower, a playground and a large garden on the compound. Locals usually come here for their recreational activities.
