Getting Around

Getting Around Pattaya
Minibus: there are no taxis in Pattaya. Most tourists travel around in ‘songteows’ or ’baht buses’. These are open backed vehicles with two narrow padded benches. They are ubiquitous and cruise the streets all day and night on prescribed routes, just stop it and hop in. To get off, just ring the bell.
The fare is set at a very reasonable fee, depending on the destination and if they are empty they usually agree to drive you directly to a location for an agreed fee. The songteows go round a circuit from Second Road and Beach Road, which is a one way system. If you want to go anywhere else stop an empty one and negotiate.
Contact Tourist Police if you are cheated. Motor Bikes are available at beach road vendors. Rates: are no more than $10 a day.
Bicycle: are available from street vendors and are also convenient for exploring if you don’t intend to go far.

Motorcycle Taxi: if you really want to live dangerously, you can take a motorcycle taxis. Agree the price before you get on.
