Getting Around

Getting Around Krabi
You might want to occasionally use a songteaw minibus to visit Krabi Town, which is 20kms from Ao Nang.
Taxi: taxis in the ‘metered’ form, are less common here but do exist and can be arranged for a comfortable air-conditioned trip at a reasonable fee.
Longtail boat: they line up along the beachfront of Ao Nang and depart for the 10-minute journey to Railay Beach every time they’ve filled with at least five passengers - which is often. If you’re in a hurry, they’ll take your party alone for a reasonable fee. These boats can also be chartered for getting to nearby islands, but they can be unreliable. A similar arrangement exists on Phi Phi island.
Motor-scooter: is popularly hired in Thailand for getting around. They are cheap, easy to ride and conveniently used.

Hire car: is another option for taking daytrips and visiting Phuket, and several local agents are found, but booking online usually secures the best rates.
