Elephant trekking: both children and adults will enjoy a fun elephant ride into the jungle. Standard treks take about 30 minutes and you will be taken to the island’s fascinating interiors on a back of an enormous, friendly mammal. There are many venues on the island for elephant trekking.
Go carts: if a ride on an elephant is too slow for you, head to Bo Phut to join a thrilling race at Samui Go-Kart. With three types of carts available: a fun cart, a pro cart and a speed cart, tourists can enjoy a ride at their own speed.
Jet skis are also provided everywhere on the main beaches of the island. For those who want to observe the islands nearby, there are many travel agents that offer canoe and kayak trips to destinations near Samui such as Ang Thong National Park and Pha Ngan.
Fishing: many travel agents or your hotels can organise fishing trips for you around Samui, Pha Ngan and Tao islands. Fishing equipment can be rented for reasonable prices. Food and drinks are also provided if you are not lucky enough to catch your own fish for dinner!
Diving lessons are given at most of the dive shops in Chaweng, Lamai and Bo Phut. Many trips make it as far as nearby Koh Tao (island) which is the dive mecca of Thailand.
Golf: is offered at only one course at present, the 18 hole Santiburi course, which offers a wonderful backdrop and rents out clubs. You may have to book in advance and it wont be the cheapest game of gold you’ll get in Thailand.
Shooting: visit Samui Shooting Range to practice your shooting skills with a variety of guns to choose from. The price starts from about $10 for 10 rounds. Located near Chaweng, about 200 metres from Tesco Lotus, the range is open from 9:00 to 18:00 everyday.
