Koh Samui Travel Guide

Nightlife

Nightlife in Koh Samui
Alternatively there are numerous bars where you can have a quiet beer, listen to not-so-quiet live music (the Thai are brilliant singers), watch European football live, or buy over-priced drinks for the friendly female company.
Chaweng beach hosts many clubs and bars which range from air-conditioned places with imported DJs to outdoor bars with live band playing Thai music and mainstream hip-hop. Expect to see plenty of bars with pink lights and ladies in skimpy dresses calling out “you, handsome boy”.
Clubbing scenes on Lamai beach are also famous among travellers as there are many interesting venues that offer ultimate shows you can’t find anywhere else. The highlight must be a live show of girl mud wrestling (yes) at one of the restaurants on the beach. There are many beer bars are around this area where you can find a few tables of pools.
Here, drink all you can as the beer will keep flowing all night and you will receive premium services from attentive lady staff. Quite on the seedy side, Lamai beach is also home to a number of go-go bars featuring stage shows and pole-dancing. Go-go bars usually offer very cheap beer and, of course, many charming (but ‘working’) ladies trying to turn a trick.
Apart from these places, holidaymakers can also enjoy the extreme nightlife in the half moon and full moon parties that take place every month throughout the year on nearby Koh Pha Ngan’s Haad Rin beach. Many come specifically to be part of the 10,000 strong crowd and an overnight trip from Big Buddha beach is feasible, but avoid jumping on the overcrowded ferries in the morning - there have been some fatal accidents.
