Waterfalls: there are a few waterfalls on Samui that provide natural freshwater pools and peaceful ambiance of the forests. Stop by Hin Lat Fall, located at the end of Route 4172, 3kms south of Na Thon, where you can admire beautiful surroundings of many kinds of plants and bath in the waterfall.
About 11 kms to the south of Na Thon is another charming fall, Na Muang Fall 1, flowing from a steep 40-metre cliff. There are many boulders underwater so you should take extra care if you want to swim. Na Muang Fall 2, the sister fall of Na Muang Fall 1, is only 100 metres away and is famous for trekking and elephant back riding.
Wat Kunaram: is an important temple on the island as it houses the body of Samui's most famous mummified monk, Loung Pordaeng, in a specially constructed glass shrine. He is now sitting in the same position of meditation as he was when he died more than 25 years ago. The temple is situated on the 4169 ring-road between the Na Muang waterfalls and Hua Thanon in the south.
Hin Ta and Hin Yai: are located on South Lamai beach. Also internationally known as Grandmother (Ta) and Grandfather (Yai) rocks (Hin), these rocks are very interesting and usually induce much laughter from the tourists and locals alike because they are shape remarkably like male and female genitalia.
The Snake Farm: showcases a number of native snakes, centipedes and scorpions. Expect to see an exciting show of a snake man embracing himself with poisonous cobras and playing with the snakes. Several daring shows take place throughout the day. Samui Snake Farm is located at Taling ngam on the south of the island and is open to public everyday.
Samui Aquarium and Tiger Zoo: is a great place to visit for families. The aquarium boasts fascinating collections of tropical marine life such as sharks, tropical fish and other colourful underwater creatures. Vast tanks containing beautiful corals, rocks, sea forests and many kinds of fish and turtles are the main highlight of the aquarium. Also, don’t miss the tiger and bird shows which take place at 13:00.
Buffalo Stadiums: will surely make you forget the cliche of Spanish bullfights. There are about six stadiums with cleared areas under the palm trees where local and tourist audience gather enthusiastically to see the mind-blowing fights between two aggressive buffalos.
However, those who are not into violent shows can head to the ‘Living Thailand Buffalo Show’ located at the road 4173 to Ban Thale, featuring a Thai farming museum, a buffalo theatre - which hosts the buffalo ploughing and rice planting shows. You can also have a fun ride in a buffalo cart.
