Located 18 miles east of the city, Bangkok International Airport has one huge passenger terminal, comprising of seven levels and seven concourses and servicing both domestic and international flights.
On Level 1, you’ll find the bus lobby; on Level 2, the Arrivals area, Immigration and Customs, Baggage Claim and the transfer area; Level 3 features most of the restaurants and shops and other passenger services and amenities; on Level 4 is the Departures areas; Level 5 contains mostly airport and airlines offices; on Level 6 you’ll find more restaurants; and on Level 7 there’s an observation deck. The seven concourses, which are labelled A through G, handle all flights; with domestic flights serviced at concourses A and B, and international flights at concourses C through G.
There are many duty-free shopping areas and also many shops specialising in Thai handicrafts, designer goods and others featuring clothing, jewellery and gifts. Newsagents and bookstores are also well-represented. Internet services are available, but are rather expensive.
Other than internet service, the airport terminal does not provide business services or facilities; however, the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel Bangkok, which is connected to the airport by a walkway, features facilities for business travellers and conference facilities for up to 800 participants.

Taxis, express buses and regular public bus services are available from the airport’s Transport Centre, reached by a shuttle bus service from the passenger terminal building. The shuttle takes about 10 minutes to reach the Transport Centre.
All taxis are metered, but it’s still a good idea to check that the meter is switched on as you begin your trip. If you choose to go by expressway, the toll will be added to the meter rate, as will an airport surcharge. Six companies offer limousine services at fixed rates, with the fare depending on your destination.
Parking: the airport has parking facilities for more than 15,000 vehicles in two six-storey short-term parking buildings and two long-term car parks. All parking facilities are patrolled by airport police. The short-term car parking buildings are connected to the passenger terminal building by covered walkways and the long-term car parks are linked to the terminal by shuttle bus.
