Eating and drinking: eating good food and drinking whisky is a big obsession among Thais. To please the locals’ appetites, there are countless restaurants around town offering a variety of food including local Thai food, Italian, French, German, American, British, Turkish, Lebanese, Indian, Sri Lankan and manyothe cuisines.
Almost every Thai person loves drinking whisky with friends, but the restaurants, bars and pubs also offer an extensive menu of many kinds of international beer, cocktails and wine. But once you are in Bangkok, why not try local brands like Singha and Chang beer or Sang Som whisky.
The most notable shopping malls are Siam Paragon (Siam BTS Station), Siam Discovery Centre (Siam BTS Station), Siam Centre (Siam BTS Station), Gaysorn Plaza (Chidlom BTS Station), Central Chidlom (Chidlom BTS Station), Central World Plaza (Chidlom BTS Station) and the Emporium Shopping Complex (Phrom Pong BTS Station). Spa and massage: recently, there have been many spa and massage places blooming in Bangkok, offering a variety of packages, some including Jacuzzi pampering, spa and relaxing massages.
Manicure and pedicure: a lot of holidaymakers choose to have a manicure and pedicure in Bangkok as they are much cheaper here, with special packages on offer. A variety of manicure and pedicure are offered here including the renowned French manicure and nail painting. Some places also provide hand and foot spa, which is truly relaxing.
Concert and performance: Bangkok has an array of concerts from international artists and performances throughout the year, with the most notable ones being the Jazz Festival, organised annually at the ground near Sanam Luang. Other performances both Thai and international are also held regularly including musical plays, ballets, symphony orchestras and international dances.
Course: a variety of short courses are aplenty in Bangkok if you are only in the city for a week and want to go back to your country with some new skills. Cooking and mixing cocktail courses are usually offered at most hotels and also the world-renowned Blue Elephant Cooking School.
You can also find flower-arranging, music-mixing, dancing or even writing classes around Bangkok. These courses and classes are listed in free Bangkok magazines such as BK Magazine or Bangkok Post’s Guru.
