Introduction to Uttaradit, Thailand
For centuries, the unassuming town of Uttaradit has been holding its own along the banks of the Nan River, at the edge of northern Thailand. This is a place where travellers can escape the obtuse face of tourism so prevalent in more popular Thai destinations and take a glimpse into what a regular Thai town gets up to. There are plenty of places to eat and have a drink in the centre of town, nearly all of them purely Thai-focused outfits. It’s rare to run across other foreigners in the town, which means you’ll likely be the centre of attention. Check out the Uttaradit Cultural Centre to catch up on the long history of this area and its importance as a river transport hub. Surrounding the town are several traditional villages home to craftspeople and just a bit further out is the massive Queen Sirikit Dam, where visitors can enjoy a boat cruise around the lake and a tasty evening meal. Just enough Uttaradit hotels are on hand in town to ensure travellers can linger as long as they like.other spellings: uttaradithotels, otelin utaradit, uttaradid hotell, utaradit hotell, utaradit hote, utaladit
