Introduction to Trat, Thailand
The tiny province of Trat on Thailand’s south-eastern border with Cambodia is home to some of the country’s most beautiful and unspoiled islands and beaches. One of these islands, Ko Chang, is Thailand’s second largest as well as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Trat. Trat’s capital city, also referred to as Trat, may not have a lot of tourist attractions but Trat hotels are certainly plentiful within the city. In fact, hotels in Trat are among the highest quality for the lowest cost in all of Thailand, and many Trat hotel owners speak English. Most Trat hotels in the city are clean guesthouses located in the oldest section of the city, with the widest selection on the side streets south of Trat’s market area. There’s also a wide selection of Trat hotels available on the island of Ko Chang, only the largest of Ko Chang National Park’s 47 scenic islands. Most Ko Chang hotels and guesthouses are on the island’s west coast, and the accommodations located furthest from the port are generally the cheapest. Finding accommodation on Ko Chang usually isn’t difficult but the cheapest and highest quality places can fill up fast on weekends.other spellings: trathotels, trad otel, trad hotell, trad hote, hotle in trad, hotes in trat
