Introduction to Trang - Koh Ngai
Koh Ngai is one of Trang's smaller islands, but it's a popular tourist destination nonetheless. Despite its location off Krabi's Andaman coast, it's regarded as a Trang tourist spot. This is because the island is just nine miles from Trang's Pak Meng pier, which is easily reachable by ferry. Much quicker speedboat connections are also available, reducing the travel time to just 20 minutes. Koh Ngai is fairly underdeveloped. There are no roads here, meaning that getting around is limited to hiring a long-tail boat or walking on foot. All Koh Ngai hotels are located on the south and east coastlines, while the other two coasts are completely uninhabited. Guests have the opportunity to go jungle trekking in the almost untouched forested hills. The island has some beautiful beaches, with a number of coral reefs off the coastline. The best snorkelling can be found off the south and west coasts. Birdwatchers will enjoy the opportunities to spot migrating birds in the north.
